This lot features two distinctive pieces of American white milk glass, a staple of mid-century decorative tableware. Milk glass is prized by collectors for its opaque, porcelain-like quality and the intricate textures achieved through the pressing process. These pieces demonstrate classic geometric patterns that provided both tactile interest and visual depth to traditional home decor.
Pieces Included:
• Lidded Pedestal Candy Dish: Features a repeating pineapple or diamond point pattern across the bowl and lid, scalloped rim, and a pointed finial. Approximately 8.75 inches tall with lid.
• Small Ruffled Bowl: Features a lattice or diamond quilted pattern on the exterior with a crimped, ruffled rim edge. Approximately 5 inches diameter.
Condition: Overall very good vintage condition. The lidded dish is free of chips or cracks with a clean interior. The small bowl shows a tiny dark inclusion or mark in the glass on the interior base, common in vintage production. Both pieces retain their original opaque white finish with no staining or mineral deposits.
