German Pottery
Traditional Village Scene / Mold #3003
Vintage West Germany (1949-1990)

This is a classic example of post-war German stoneware, marked 'Made in W. Germany' on the base. The stein features a hand-painted, raised-relief scene wrapping around the body, depicting villagers in a traditional setting against a rich cobalt blue background. Its characteristic form is completed with an ornate, hinged pewter lid, making it a highly collectible piece of German craftsmanship.

• Detailed, wrap-around relief scene of villagers in traditional dress.
• Topped with a decorative hinged pewter lid with a pointed finial.
• Base is incised with the mold number '3003' and 'Made in W. Germany'.
• Measures approximately 10" height x 5" width (including handle).

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The hand-painted colors remain vibrant and the stein presents beautifully. There are no chips or cracks noted on the ceramic body. The base exhibits significant crazing, which is common for pottery of this age. The pewter lid is intact and functional with a light patina consistent with age.
