This vintage ceramic vase is a classic example of Japanese export ware from the mid-20th century. It features a deep black base with a lustrous, iridescent finish that shimmers with purple, blue, and green hues, similar in effect to carnival glass. The piece is decorated with a detailed transfer print depicting yellow iris flowers, water lilies, and a small blue bird.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The iridescent luster finish is vibrant and the floral and bird decoration is clear and well-preserved. The unglazed bottom rim shows minor shelf wear consistent with its age, but does not detract from its display quality.
