A striking vintage folk art sculpture, hand-carved from a solid piece of wood. This piece depicts a stylized figure of a man leaning on a long-handled tool, possibly a broom. The carving technique is direct and expressive, with a highly textured treatment on the shirt contrasting with the smoother surfaces of the skin and pants. The elongated proportions and stylized facial features give the work a powerful presence, reminiscent of Mid-Century modernist and primitivist aesthetics.
