Artist Unknown (Published by Paul B. Victorius)
Colonial American Town Scene
Color Print on Paper
14" x 18"
Unsigned

This vintage decorative print captures a nostalgic early American town scene, produced in the mid-20th century. The label on the reverse identifies it as being "Styled by Paul B. Victorius for Miller & Rhoads," a prominent Virginia-based publisher and department store, respectively. The artwork features a bustling town square with period architecture, figures in colonial dress, and horse-drawn carriages, rendered in a style reminiscent of 19th-century American folk art or historical lithographs.

• The naive, folk art style is characterized by simplified forms and a clear, bright color palette.
• Subject matter is classic Americana, depicting an idealized vision of community life.
• The piece is presented under glass in its original simple gilt wood frame.
• Overall frame dimensions are 14" x 18".

Condition: Good vintage condition. The print appears clean with some possible light, even age toning under the glass. The colors remain vibrant. The gilt wood frame shows minor scuffs and dings consistent with age, particularly at the corners. The paper backing is torn, but the artwork remains secure in the frame.
